Corner Treatment

When using a Bevel cut, the laser nozzle has to change the tilt orientation at the corner. Since the nozzle cannot change orientation instantaneously, there are different types of Corner Treatments available for the nozzle to transition between the two stances.

Click near a corner of a bevel-cut contour to adjust the corner treatment, and the Corner Treatment panel shown below appears:

  • Turn on Auto compute to have Flux compute the optimal corner treatment based on the bevel angles and the sheet thickness.

  • Use the Treatment and Radius settings for manual control over the corner treatment.

  • The selectors at the bottom of the panel can be used to select other corners to apply the same treatment to:

    • Similar on this contour selects other corners with the same corner angle.

    • All on this contour selects all corners in this contour.

    • Similar on all contours selects all corners with the same angle on all contours that are bevel cut with a similar bevel profile.

Microjoints

Microjoints can be added to a bevel-cut contour using the Microjoints section of the LaserCut panel.

The joint is added to the vertical cut, as well as to the tilted cuts as shown in the image above.

Working range

When using Bevel cutting, the entire working range (stroke) of the machine is not available, and only a restricted area is usable.

View Settings

You can turn on the Show machine working area setting in the Cut View page of the Machine settings (as indicated above) to visualize this:

Machine Stroke
  • The Red line is the working range (machine stroke) available for processing straight-cut parts (with vertical laser head).

  • The Yellow line indicates the working range available when processing bevel-cut parts (with tilted laser head).
